Gold Recognition Horror

I was flying from London to New York, on the BA231 in First Class.
When I got to the gate to board, I went in front of everyone (as I am newly gold as of last month) I was immediately and very rudely told to join the line at the back. After flashing my first class boarding ticket and gold card this soon silence the gate staff.
But my horror had just started!
I got the door were a single, lonesome, unexperienced flight attendant checked my boarding pass.
She then pointed to the first class cabin, without even showing me to my seat!
There was two member of FEMALE staff at the door!

It gets worse, I’m afraid.

After sitting down, I thought the CSM would of came over to greet me, nothing. Fair enough, waited until we were in the air, nothing!
1 hour in – also nothing.
I asked to see the CSM about 2 hours into the flight, I reminded her it is company policy to greet gold card holders especially in first class. .. she did agree
I also asked her If she could let the crew know I am gold she said she would put up a note, in the galley alerting them to this, so that was all good.

The food was ordered but I thought they would of prioritised the cabin in terms of us gold members etc, but apart from that, everting went well and it was a pleasant flight.

PS. For some reason when I quads for a taxi at LHR T 5 they did NOT care about my status.

Just a little TRIP report thank you all and god bless

If this is a bad joke, I think you should have made it more clear - if you believe it is serious, you honestly need to take a moment to re-evaluate yourself and your behaviour of entitlement........
@ MODs, perhaps please remove this thread as it serves no purpose as neither a serious nor a joking thread?

I am sure this is a joke.....but if not ...I expect nearly all F pax on that route are Gold or higher. So you may in fact have been low down the priority order even as a new gold 😁

Nice one. A good tongue-in-cheek reminder that BA Gold card is not the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Well that is indeed a little unfortunate.

Must've been very distressing.

I imagine at this point you jumped out of your seat and brandished your Gold card in the air so everyone could see? I know if it were me, I'd immediately demand a formal inquest into how it is even possible that anyone else is allowed to eat before me.

I trust you made a formal complaint to Transport for London for failing to recognise your... British Airways Gold card?

I don't think it's a joke.

I think we all fell into the trap of wasting our time on this thread, but this sums it up nicely

It annoys me too, but I suspect that it will become standard English in the very near future. Probably should of done it ages ago.

I felt rather uneasy reading the OP and a little embarrassed! This has to be a joke doesn't it? If it is then I am not sure what point the OP is making. It is all a bit weird.
