BA279 to SJC canceled - did anyone get a routing better than mine?
 
Rerouted via JFK. Landing in SFO at 01:00 instead of SJC at 16:05. Anyone else do better out of curiosity?

Seattle, LAX, Phoenix and SFO have all been mentioned recently in various threads or with people I have met on flights to/from SJC. Seems like 279 is very often on the chopping block although flight stats says it's been cancelled only three rimes in the last two months.

Tried everything on the West Coast including LAS and Denver. No luck in First or CW. Also nothing on any other airline according to BA.

I'd say the problem was lack of availability in domestic first class on the connecting AA flights. These cabins will have been topped up with upgraders leaving no space for IRROP-ed passengers. Taking economy on the AA connection (if possible), might have got you there earlier in more overall comfort.

Yep today. Just landed at JFK. 4 hours till the connection. Just missed an earlier flight. Doesn't help we have to wait 20 mins for a gate.

never rely on an airline to tell you about other options. Expert flyer all the way.
