BA2041 LGW-CPT 11NOV Delayed

Pax (my friends heading off on honeymoon included) have been told of a technical issue and flight will be delayed beyond 20:00 scheduled departure.

Nothing helpful yet showing on Expertflyer and BA.com and app just say 'To be confirmed'and 'We're awaiting revised times' respectively - just wondering if any connected FT-ers have access to any other information?

There is a one hour delay, the takeoff slot is at 21.20.

Thank you CIHY ... I've passed it on - apparently the board is still showing 'Update at 2100' (which is what EF now says).

There is something going on, we can normally see a gate number but nothing is showing, it’s a 100% full flight.

There is some sort of engineering problem, no information as yet.

Business lounge now closing, so I'm told BA2041 passengers are being moved to the First lounge to await further news....

Now showing a 22.00 departure time.

They’ve just had this text:

”BA2041 - We would like to provide an update to your flight . Our engineers are currently with the aircraft and are attempting to rectify the issue. Unfortunately, this is taking longer than expected, and therefore we have had to further delay your service.
We will provide you with an update at 22:15 local time or as soon we have more information.”

Next update due at 2330. They’ve been told it’s an engine issue and it is hoped that the next replacement part should fix it. Lounge remaining open.

Must be boarding by now ? Looks scheduled to depart at 2345. And arriving 3h07min late into CPT :D

Under four hours late is relatively good; BA saves a lot of money on EC261 claims.

Flightaware saying that it’s not leaving until 00:15 now

Do we really need a thread for every mechanical delay?

There is a thread which covers these types of new threads as below.

Unfortunately and in my humble opinion the Dashboard is not used as much as it should be but in the meantime you can click on the red triangle and hopefully one of our kind Moderators will merge it but they're usually quite pro-active in this regard. ^
