Club World to Abu Dhabi with a toddler

Hello

We are flying to Abu Dhabi next week with our toddler in Club World- his first long(ish) haul.

Has anyone done this route with a young one before?

BA tell me that an infant meal is provided without having to pre-order. Does anyone have any experience of this?

My wife and I have not flown Club for a while so looking forward to seeing if there have been any improvements- my last business flight was a QSuite which I thoroughly enjoyed!

The BA73 seems to be exclusively a 772 at the moment. I haven't flow with "toddlers" for about 15 years, but looking around me in the CW cabin, there's normally 2 to 3 toddlers on most trips. I don't think the ying yang arrangement makes the parenting bit any easier than if you were 3 across in WT+.

It's the 2am return journey I would be more concerned about, trying to get them to sleep etc.

BA do carry infant food onboard (ella's kitchen). It cannot be pre booked however just ask the cabin crew and they will provide it. Alternatively you could order a child's special meal however i assume it unsuitable depending on age of infant/child. I would strongly advise you cater yourself which I understand can be tricky with airport security restrictions however there are exceptions in place.

So still an infant, you cannot order a child meal until they have a seat and I don’t think the baby food will be suitable so look at the menu and see if there is anything suitable and ask the crew if there is any spare.
I would eat separately to Mum as it will be easier if one of you is free to look after him.
if the flight is on a B777 you should tray and get seats 15EF.

That's right around the age our daughter was worst to handle on long haul flights. Didn't want to sit still for more than a few minutes. If you make it through this trip unscathed it'll all be easier after that

That has made me even more worried! My wife is adamant that if this trip goes smoothly we will book Australia next!

Very keen to take him to South Africa but think that will be easier due to it being overnight

Definitely let us know how it goes - we're taking our currently 15 month old, but by then 17 month old to Australia via a weekend in Tokyo. 241 redemption in First to Tokyo then economy cash down to Australia (works out cheaper than cash LON-AUS) and back again. Any tips appreciated...

Exactly how we plan on keeping our daughter (who will be nearly 2) occupied to Miami next year. Hopefully being a small child she won't be bothered that she's already seen most episodes 20+ times by then.

I, on the other hand, groan at watching the Cheese Badge yet again.
