Can Vistara print a BA boarding pass for Connection
Got a flight HYD-DEL-LHR coming up. All on the same booking with HYD-DEL with Vistara and DEL- LHR with BA. Did the same flight a few months ago and was unable to obtain my BA boarding pass via the website or app, which meant I had to check in at DEL and then clear security again.
Does anyone know if I was in the same situation Vistara would be able to print my BA boarding pass to save me the horrendous queue through DEL security, and so I could use connections instead?

To answer this in case it helps anyone.....
This time when booking in online on the Vistara website it allowed me to check into both flights and print both boarding passes

Further update on this. Despite having a printed boarding pass on paper was not allowed through connections as told it was not a valid boarding pass and I had to go to the check in desks. As the check in desks are not open I tried through security and again not let through as you need to have an airport printed boarding pass.
So now I have to sit for 3 plus hours in the check in area waiting for the BA desks to open. What an absolute farce.
I am vowing to avoid this route in the future as it is just too much trouble!

Through-check baggage on Vistara?
Yikes. Came across this thread to ask a question about an upcoming BLR-DEL-LHR. Was thinking I would be able to through-check as I am ticketed on Vistara as a BA Codeshare and it's all one PNR. Sounds like I won't be able to.
In the event someone who has successfully done what OP tried to do sees this, I am connecting overnight in DEL to the BA 256 (11am flight), so that may also complicate matters.

Your best bet is to make sure you get a boarding pass printed when you check in at BLR.
If for any reason you can't then do not exit the arrivals area after customs..... Big mistake if you do that and go to check in area! Stay in the arrivals area and use one of the lounges there!
Good luck and report back.

So I emailed Vistara and got a vague answer on whether they could interline my bags given I am connecting overnight in DEL. So I have now emailed the transit hotel in DEL to get their advice on whether I should book into the international or the domestic wing, which I guess all rather turns on the boarding pass issue.
I suspect that I need to prepare multiple layers of backup plans for this one. Fun times.

Really the check in staff should be aware of airport regulations and just print you a boarding pass for your onward connection.

That's useful to know - my next trip I am returning HYD direct to London so won't be an issue for me, but I do normally prefer to do the via DEL route as it gets me home earlier on the following day, albeit a longer journey. I may have to try it again on a future trip.

Another advantage of DEL is that there is F on that route and BA has been doing some really nice pricing for a while on F to DEL. Hope they do that in 2020 as well.

As promised, here's an update on how it went. This was travelling from BLR to LHR via DEL. Connecting from a late evening domestic flight to the 11am BA flight.
Now, a complication. There are two BA flights out of DEL. One is at 3am. Had I been connecting to that I would have wanted to go through the Domestic-->International transfer point. My BP from Vistara should have been good for that (did not try it). But the transfer desk at midnight had no BA representation at it. Not sure if that would have been a problem or not.
- BA Codeshare ticket
- Vistara through-checked bags to London
- Vistara produced a boarding pass that was good for the BA flight
- Since I was connecting overnight, I had a room booked in the transit hotel at DEL. This was an odd experience.
- Had to leave the secure area to check-in to hotel
- Was then escorted to the hotel, which straddles the secure area
- Bags x-rayed again
- In the morning, was escorted back out of the secure area, so had to reclear security
- My Vistara-issued BP would have been good for security, but I wanted a coupon for the lounge, so since I was out front I went to BA check-in and got a new BP
- Suspect that had I gone straight through, the Lounge would have taken a copy of my BP and let me in anyway. But didn't want to chance it.

Thanks for the update. It is the domestic to international I had issues with, albeit with a home printed BP.
I am avoiding it on my next trip and taking the monrning HYD-LHR flight.
