IB 3166 MAD-LHR C gates arrival.

First time I have arrived into LHR on IB for some time on IB3166 from MAD. I was surprised to be met by Concorde Team at C gates and escorted though immigration. Nice that they supply this service for IB flights into T5.

Totally. They've managed to fragment an already fragmented app still further. It's a mess and there seem to have been no improvements to the stability of their backend calls. (Sorry, I know that has no direct relevance to this overall thread - so to that, I will mention that I still haven't been met at LHR since the creation of the Concorde team, whether connecting or not)

Do you fly into LHR on routes apart from MAN- you are more likely to be met by Concorde Team if you arrive Long Haul B/C gates especially in business class and above.

Same here, long time GGL, always flying F L/H, always connecting at LHR, I have never been met by the Concorde team at LHR. I have seen other people on my flights (not necessarily flying F) being met though and taken by car to terminal 5A or terminal 3. On the other hand I have often been met by the AA Concierge Key team in the US upon arrival/departure for priority boarding, assistance with delayed flights and sometimes with upgrades at the gate (from business to first on e.g. JFK-LAX flights). I have no idea what criterion the Concorde team at LHR is using for meeting GGL's. I do not seem to qualify. Does anyone know?
The SS (Concorde team) at JFK bluntly refused to assist me with immigration when I had a very short connection time due to a delayed incoming BA flight (in F). I missed an AA connection flight. That's why I now do not longer fly BA into JFK.
The Concorde team is generally OK at LAX. They look for the GGL's in the Qantas First lounge, ensure priority boarding and make sure GGL's are taken care of in case of cancelled or delayed flights.

LAX

At LAX nothing so far - no preflight email and nothing mentioned at check-in... to be honest I seem to get better recognition and service on American

EDIT - sought out in lounge and met with Concorde Team... car arranged for Heathrow in the morning on landing

I heard recently from somebody senior in the CCR team that they’ve now introduced a service where GGL and Premier members leaving Heathrow from a remote stand and, eventually, those leaving from B and C gates will be driven to the aircraft. It’s in trial at the moment so will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Met twice this week - inbound from PHL B gates with car and also on from GVA A gates and taken through immigration.

Is there a Concorde Team ar LGW? Have not flown inbound to Gatwick in over a year.

All sounds a lovely idea, but with 22 BA flights so far this year through LHR and not a sniff of even a hello / welcome back from anybody, I’ll believe it when I actually see it!

Had several very helpful and much-appreciated encounters with the Concorde Team at LHR T5 recently. I am flying out of T3 (on BA) later this week. Does anyone know if they are also operating there on departure or arrival?

Most of the time you will get met on arrival at T3 but nothing on departure

I have been met a few times on departure from T3 - but not as regularly at T5 - once at check-in and a few times via an announcement in the BA F lounge.
Maybe more would of us would be met if we were in the BA First lounge instead of the CX/QF lounges!😀😀

This is how it works these days, they try to find you in the Qantas first lounge (only) and no consistency with the preflight email.

I flew back from LAX a couple of weeks ago and was escorted on to the plane by the Concorde Team. They had come to find me in the lounge and asked if I wanted a car to meet me at LHR, to which I said yes please, not quite knowing what to expect. They said they would try but couldn't promise a car would be available. On landing, sure enough, there was a BA staff person with my name on an iPad at the end of the jetty. She took me down some stairs onto the tarmac and into a waiting Jaguar F-Pace, and then drove me to the main terminal, very close to passport control.

I was pretty impressed! Expecting my next trip to be a crushing disappointment when none of that happens. From reading the comments on this forum, it seems to be a bit hit-and-miss so perhaps I got lucky, but I did get the impression from chatting with the Concorde Team people that it is a new service they are extending to GGLs.

It would be interesting to know if this is a change in policy, and if so, which airports it applies to.

Met twice this week both times from GVA. First was at A gates and taken through immigration. Second taken from B Gates to T5 immigration- this time car was quite cozy (Jag F-Pace) as there was three pax (Premier and friend) and two from Concorde Team. Second member of Concorde Team was new and still waiting to take her airside driving test.
Both mentioned they are looking to extend amount of accompanying and driving to B and C gates for departing flights ex T5 - they mentioned that when in the Concorde Room just ask and see if a car is available to take you to the B/C departing gates. The Premier in the car mentioned he had received the car service on his outbound flight.

Interesting, thanks. What is your status with BA? Are you GGL, or GGL and CCR? Or are you flying on an AA Concierge Key status?
