Tech issue on BA93 Toronto A350 flight [pre-departure, 19th October 2019]

Not overly news worthy except for the fact this is a brand new plane. There's some kind of a tech warning on G-XWBB and it's heading to a remote stand so someone from Engineering can board and assess.

Wonder what A350 maintenance experts there are at YYZ? Although of course it could be something simple!

Hi
Although BA 93 is the LHR-YYZ flight so the issue is at the LHR end at the moment,

BA wouldnít send a new aircraft somewhere without Ďmaintenance expertsí available. In particular though itís worth noting that BA engineering has actually been handling the A350 at some stations for several years (on behalf of other operators), so have developed considerable expertise well before the arrival of their own aircraft.
T8191 and argonath like this.

If anything, I would have thought that it's not particularly newsworthy precisely because it's a new aircraft. "New aircraft has teething problems" or "New aircraft model has teething problems" is about as unsurprising as you can get. At least in this case it's not engines repeatedly going bang above 30,000 feet.

Although itís not really a new aircraft anymore. Been in service for a year and a half and the -900 for a most 4 years. It is of course though a new cabin.

Exactly. This entire thread could have been entitled "Minor technical issue on a flight", with all of the attendant newsworthiness that that implies.

And a date in the title would help avoid any unnecessary confusion or concern.

Edited to add:

Thanks to a Moderator for adding the date.
