Still issues with seat assignment on Finnair when booked as BA codeshare?
I recall a number of posts in past years about problems choosing seats on Finnair flights when the booking had been made through BA. I thought that some at the time said it was a known but intermittent problem that was expected to be fixed. My memory may be wrong - or perhaps the IT is still screwed. Does anyone know if this is still a known problem and, if so, is there any way round it?
I've got an upcoming return booking on Finnair booked through BA with this problem. Regular emails encourage me to choose my seat. BA's MMB seems to do the right thing when I go to choose seats, redirects me to Finnair and my booking. But any attempt to choose seats just says that this booking won't allow it. This happens whether I go direct to the Finnair site or via BA. Am I particularly unlucky or is this still a general issue?

I had the same trouble booking seats on AY when the booking was via BA.COM.
The customer service line +44-20-8001-0101 was very efficient, although you may want to remind them if you have status - they tried to charge for seat assignments.

Thanks for all the helpful replies. At least I know now that the system is still borked, and it's not just me. I'll try giving them a call.
