GGL showing its worth!
Rolling delays on my LCY-AMS flight this evening, finally cancelled. On phone to BA GGL and while on hold (after explaining problem and asking for LHR-HKG to be protected) I was paged from the queue and given a BP for the last flight of the day - which is also heavily delayed!
I’m going to have a bit of a nightmare tomorrow as the inbound from AMS is going to be a few hours delayed due to minimum rest times. But so far I seem to be ok.
btw - the answer on protecting LHR-HKG was a no, didn’t need to hear the bit after “because it’s a through ticket” as I had BP. Otherwise I would have been on to KLM and forking our Ł400 or taking a taxi from Rotterdam
A cautionary tale!

I was in a similar situation with an ex-EU staring from GOT. The last flight LHR-GOT was delayed and the first in the morning was showing as delayed too. Even with that delay, I could have made my flight to JFK. An incredibly nice agent in GF protected my LHR-JFK flight from his Ipad and even printed my BP for the next day within 5 minutes. Golden ticket given.
