HELP Non BA.. GVA - RAK cancelled today

Hello I know this is no BA but a colleague is at my desk can someone suggest the best way to get from GVA to RAK as the LX flight has been cancelled after a long sliding delay. (LX 2200)

Just need to find availability for 3 people today or tomorrow ...

Thanks

LX has grounded their A220 fleet today. Any travel to/from/through GVA will be tough.

If the trip is really important, could the person consider taking the train to some airport outside of Switzerland?

KLM leaving at 7.15 p.m., overnight in AMS (should be lots of hotel options) and a 5.15 a.m. departure (ouch!) for an 8.25 a.m. arrival.

Via CDG on AF may be slightly more humane and an hour later.

Only 1 option for today, 2 stops and pricey but gets you there @ 2am.

Tomorrow is easier.

Have come up with rebooking options for tomorrow via ZRH with LX,

Asked here so they can get on their way his daughters are going for a holiday with their grandmother.

Asked as lots of people here to check availability.

Many thanks again

I'd be wary about using LX right now on any route that would use aircraft similar to the A220. There could be lots of cancellations and shuffling of aircraft during the next few days.

The routing I found is via ZRH on A320 and then Edelweiss A320

I think the fact that this is a holiday, and therefore privately funded from a presumably normal budget, changes things. If booked on LX then you can expect a rebooking on LX or LH. Tomorrow's GVA-ZRH-RAK is at least on A32x metal so should be as safe as you can get. I was looking for flights on the basis of a business traveller desperate to get to RAK before the cilent notices...
