BA109 [LHR-DXB] Summer 2020
I am booked to fly to DXB on BA109 at the beginning of June. I have seen that the A350 is doing the DXB route for W19 on the other 2 daily flights to DXB but it utilizes the B777-236 4 class on the BA109. I have just read that BA109 is changing to the 3 class 777 on RoutesOnline for s20 but my seat map on manage my booking is for a 4 class. I am seriously confused as I do not fancy going on the older 777 and would rather pay to change flight to the A350. When will the summer 20 schedule of aircraft changes be available?

The summer 350 routes aren't announced yet. This question is asked a few times per week. Aircraft for summer are normally finalised by early December

None of the A350s have been assigned to the Summer 2020 timetable.
As for when they will, I don’t know. Someone with more inside information available may be able to help.
Edit: I was beaten to it by 30 seconds.

Also to add, 12/15 (80%) of the G-VIIx 777s, that does DXB route, should be refitted with the Club Suites by then. So a fairly good chance that’ll be Club Suites on the 777 if you don’t get the A350.

Equipment changes are, unfortunately, the norm and even BA might not be fully aware of them. When I used to work in Line Maintenance I looked at plans to provision each station with the right tools, spares and trained engineers to support whichever plane was being used and believe me it could be a pain. Often we’d find out that equipment was changing only a couple of months before the inaugural flight, and that was due to a number of reasons (commercial, operational...). When a new plane comes in there’s always a phase of uncertainty when the thing seems to be like an electron in quantum mechanics: a cloud of probability. The 787 drove us mad!
Sure, there are airlines (cough cough El Al, Aeroflot) where the plane changes every single day or so...

I think for summer 2020 only YYZ will maintain the A350 while DXB will lose it and be replaced with a reconfigured 777 with the new Club Suite.
Probably the A350s will be deployed to more north american destinations like PHL or BOS or ATL.

BA109 should be the A350 for the S20 timetable (Flying BA’s Airbus A350: deliveries, routes, reviews and more). I'm on BA109 towards the end of May and my seatmap is showing the A350.
