Lorenzo Storm Disruption

Although the worst of the storm isnít likely to hit South UK the forecast looks fairly grim for Friday - do you think we will see some pro active cancellations in advance or any significant delays? I have a flight around lunchtime and could really do with this one not being delayed!

Lets all put our crystal balls on and try and out forecast the meteorological experts on this - really you ask questions like this expecting expert advice ?

What a ridiculous reply. It's entirely reasonable for OP to come looking for some thoughts on how BA has tended to adjust its schedule in the face of similar weather events in the past. For instance some kind(er) soul might have insight into which shorthaul destinations might be most prone to paring back in the schedule if they do need to cut back for weather.

If nothing changes its not beyond the realms of reality there will be some SH cancellations.

I'll stick my neck out here and say, it will be not much more than a breezy day - perhaps more importantly, mostly westerly winds - it certainly won't be a hurricane when it arrives in southern England!

The only weather warnings issued for Friday are for the very SW tip of the UK. I can't see this having any more of an impact on LHR than any other typical winter weather front moving through (doesn't mean there won't be any cancellations, but just business as usual).

I can't be the only one here to whom this means absolutely nothing.

You need a TAF decoder such as TAF/METAR decoder

Reminds me of one of my favourite Mock The Week scenes we'd like to see lines:
Things a Weather Forecaster Would Never Say.
Thanks very much Dave pretty easy reporting on things that have already happened. Now predicting the future.

Thanks, but I really don't; I fly frequently but have no interest in aviation and "a bit windy around lunchtime" is good enough for me. 😊

We don't need decoders just for people to post meaningful information that the vast majority of people can understand in the first place.
