Small childs white elephant left in T5 First Lounge

It has been posted on a Facebook page this morning that this little fella has been found in LHR T5 Kids Zone of First Lounge on 24th September. He (or she) has been taken home by the finder and is being looked after by the family until it can be sent safely home.

Sorry if this isn't strictly in the spirit of our forum but unsure of what status Elephant holds.

Let's get this elephant home.

I’m sure somebody will be able to supply a link, but cuddly toy repatriation is quite familiar to this forum.

As always, hoping for a positive outcome.

Sounds like a mission for our resident cuddly toy repatriation specialist C-W-S!

Why would the finder take it home for safekeeping rather than simply handing it over as lost property?

Why would anyone want to claim a white elephant?

Paging @corporate-wave-slave

Hopefully this was lost by someone on trunk route with lots of services, for swifter repatriation...

indeed.

So if the poor parents of the owner of this elephant contacts BA and then the LHR lost property service neither will have any record of this elephant being found.

The OP has made it harder - if not impossible- for elephant to be reunited with its owner,

Perhaps if someone advised the Twitter team or the Gold Line of the time when the elephant was found, those bodies could identify potential owners from among users of the lounge at the relevant time?

Seems well-meaning but daft to take it home when lost property at T5 is where it belongs.

To be fair to our FT OP, it seems they are passing on a Facebook post second hand and thus not culpable

Thank you for your response on my behalf nancypants - that is exactly what I have done. I have enough small stuffed animals without adopting more

The finder posted this on Facebook. They may well be one of those people who think that every single person in the whole world uses Facebook.

The only sensible thing to do would have been to hand it to the lounge staff.

Agreed, and to note; I was not pointing the finger at the OP!
