I noticed when looking for avios availability to TPE that BA lists it as “Taipei, Taiwan - China”.
I know there was a large U.S. hotel chain a year or so back kowtowing for their listing of Taiwan as not being part of the PRC.

Is this a new thing for BA, or have I just not noticed it before?
It’s pretty disappointing

Whatever your view on the situation is it's just pandering to the PRC government who would otherwise make BA's life difficult surrounding business should they suggest Taiwan being otherwise.

Anyone with half a brain cell can see past this anyway. IIRC it was implemented after the hotel fallout as you say.

Agree. Plus I would see more of an issue if it said PRC, ie People's Republic. Taiwan is ROC, Republic of China, so a non-specific China is suitably ambiguous.
