No available seats two days before the flight?!

Hi all,

I'm taking the BA166 on Sunday morning, in C.
When I am trying to reserve a seat for this flight, I can't since it appears in the app (and on BA site) as if all the seats in C are taken and there are no available seats.
Is it possible the I booked a C class ticket and there are no available seats on C???
Or is it this way since the flight is two days away and seat reservations are not possible anymore and I could get a seat only during check-in?

Thanks for your assistance...

BA166 on the 21st is J0W2Y1 so it may well be oversold in Club. BA is very good at managing inventory and will probably have this sorted by day of departure.

My flight is on the 22nd

I'm flying to LHR, continuing to ORD with AA.
What will be the situation if C is overbooked?

They cant fly with too many pax so someone(s) will be moved to a different flight and/or carrier.

Worry not you will get there. Happens every day.

I'm pretty sure I will...
Can they "move" me from C to economy, if C is overbooked?
I'm not familiar with the BA protocol...

Thanks for your quick response!

That is one option.
You would have the veto not to do this if you prefer. You may well find that its not necessary of course and it all runs as booked. Spend a moment to look into a plan B just in case.

Not unusual for people flying paid business class to change flights. Or miss connection's of people flying in to join BA166.
In the last 24 hours the load can change a lot.
If an (unlikely) oversell - downgrade EC261 applies.

It looks to me like there are least two unoccupied seats in the business class cabin. They are blocked but unoccupied. So you can't reserve them now, but they will be part of the seating that will be available at some stage by the time of departure.
