I started getting worried I would end up getting the double avios for all my short flights but re-reading the T&Cs I seem to get a sigh of relief. Can I confirm my understanding of the following is correct - all BA operated flights (when on BA flight number) qualify, and partner flights qualify only for transatlantic segments with BA flight numbers? So my domestic US flight on AA, and domestic Spanish flight on IB should not, right?

Do bookings booked through third-party websites (Expedia specifically) count in this offer?

Yes I believe they do count. Just make sure your BAEC number is in the booking.

Dilema

Hi,
Not sure if someone can provide some advise here. I have until end of Jan 2020 to achieve sufficient TP for the GUP2 coupon. I was planning on a couple of flights before that to achieve the needed TP ( ~430). However I've (without thinking) registered for this promotion too - therefore if I do these flights now, it means that I will only not be able to benefit from it later next year when I have some long haul flights in J.
I see my options as
1) not do the TP run and forget about getting the TPs needed to reach 2500 TP (long haul flights will be to UAE and later to west coast US)
2) try and unregister (not sure if this is even possible) and than do the TP run and register before 13 Dec
3) do the TP run as upgrade coupons have more value than Avios

What are your thoughts here....

Cheers!

Don't understand your dilemma. You will earn double base avios on the first 10 BA sectors (or partner transatlantic ones coded as BA), and normal TPs that you would otherwise earn. What is the link between the GUF voucher and the avios that you will earn?

The TP runs/weekend breaks I plan to do will be SH, just over the weekend (to achieve the 2500 TP mark before my TP collection period ends) - therefore the Avios for these are just like 500 avios max compared to my flights later next year which are long haul and I will get more benefit from the double avios promo.

Cheers!

Aha! Now I got it. Yea a bit difficult if you already have those flights booked, or I would have said do the TP runs on Iberia/Finnair. Perhaps try to de-register, and re-register again later? But I guess you are looking at a few thousand avios difference which is not that drastic...

I registered a booking that was booked, and flown, prior to the double Avios promotion going live.

I'm Gold, and flew Club between LHR - DFW return.

It seems that you are credited with the fully-flex economy Avios amount on the route flown.

Yes - as per an earlier post quoting from the T&Cs:

3.2. Double Avios is calculated from the base Avios, this is before any Tier or cabin bonuses are applied.

Were the flights within the sale period? or are you saying you just registered a flight from earlier in the year?

If BA flights are booked in the period , but are credited to another Avios scheme (Iberia ) can they be dropped out of the 10 flights.
I have a ticket on hold (not yet booked) to Lux for a short notice trip which will knock out a much more lucrative PVG in J.

I think if you enter your IB FF no you will be ok. Condition 2.4.says: To qualify for either of the bonus Avios offers, Eligible Participants must quote their Executive Club membership number at the time of booking.

Yes. Done that in a previous promotion. Alternatively, remove any sign of any FFP from the booking and retro-credit to BAEC after your PVG flight has credited.
TTmex and AJA_ like this.

Well thanks to this forum, I registered and have completed my 10 sectors for the princely sum of 5000 bonus Avios!

Never received the email but am always happy to get a few extra Avios for doing what I was going to do anyway. Just a shame that all of the flights were domestic / v short haul

I can't see the answer to this in the T&Cs : is there a deadline by which you have to submit the form to request your 'Already booked in our Sale?' bookings (29 Aug thru 18 Sep) be nominated for inclusion in the 10 flights quota ?
