BA seat assignment with One World Ruby status
 

I am flying long haul on BA (ticketed by AA) less than a week from now in economy. I thought that my status as one world ruby allows my to reserve my seat one week in advance? But it forces me to purchase using cash.

My FF membership is with AA Advantage, not BA. But BA has my AA Advantage number on file.

I don't want to call BA and be on hold forever. Is there a different path to securing a seat assignment at no charge in advance?

You could try going to the Finnair website, managing your BA booking there, remove your AA number, save it, put it back in, then go back to BA MMB and try selecting seats again.

Thank you. Looks like a technical glitch with the app. I was able to select seats with the desktop version. Thanks though!
