£550 extra to upgrade using Avios?

I’m looking at LHR-TLV in W for Jan. It’s pricing around £520 rtn. When I try “book and upgrade using Avios” it prices at £1055 plus the Avios. Is this right?

I suspect the book and upgrade tool is not pricing it correctly. Porbably best to book W and call to do the UuA.

In order to see how much the additional taxes/fees/charges are it is usually easiest to price up the same flights as cash bookings on ba.com in W then J and see what the difference is between the TFC quoted for both.

No. Book the lower rate, then call to UUA.

Sounds like the well-discussed issue with DIFs (Dual Inventory Fares). Either book W and then phone to upgrade, or do the whole process on the phone.
