Avios needed - GUF2 and Amex Companion on same booking

All,

Could someone help confirm how many Avios would be needed to fly to Cape Town for a family of 4 in Club, outbound peak, return off-peak.

Per my calculations - BA Companion voucher for 2 = 62,500 + 75,000 & GUF2 = (32,500 + 50,000) x2 --> 302,500

Am I missing something? BA agent suggesting 357,500 as they need to "upgrade" the "free person" on the companion booking in order to process on the same booking.

Never had this issue in the past and would welcome any feedback!

WTP - 32,500 off peak , 50,000 peak
CW - 62,500 off peak, 75,000 peak

So cost would be
- companion voucher & GUF2 (i.e. you use WTP rates and pay avios for one) - 50,000 + 32,500 = 82,500
- two non companion voucher passengers (pay CW rates) - (75,000 + 62,500) x 2 = 275,000

Total = 357,500

EDIT - just a thought, would it be better to use the GUF2 for the two non companion voucher passengers?

- companion voucher (use CW rates and pay avios for one) - 75,000 + 62,500 = 137,500
- two non companion voucher passengers & GUF2 (pay WTP rates) - (50,000 + 32,500) x 2 = 165,000

Total = 302,500

So yes, but you need to make sure the GUF2 is used on the two non companion voucher passengers. Also I am not sure this can be done as one booking and may need to be done as two separate bookings.

Thanks Karfa. - the GUF2 is being applied to the non-companion-voucher passengers. I am waiting for BA to revert - never had an issue in the past with this being on the same booking.

(the added complication being I am using a Joker to open up the seats!)
