Unblock seat?

Four of us are traveling to JFK from LHR in November.
Business out on 747 and First back on 777.

I currently have row 64 booked on the upper deck of the 747.
I can see row 63 AB are available on ET but 63B is blocked on manage my booking.

What are the chances if I call up they would unblock the seat for me? I am BA Silver.

I see the flight us in november so its not a TS seating block

Its unlikely calling would remove a block.

Are you on two separate bookings?

Itís not blocked. I think it just isnít selectable for your booking. I have some vague memory of another similar query recently - I think it may be something to do with having an infant on the booking and perhaps lack of additional oxygen masks in that row - will have search and see if I can find the previous query.

Odd, it was blocked when I checked last week.

This is what I see.
Also 62K I see as unavailable as well.

The combination of 62K and 63B suggests that it is indeed because they're the exit row seats.

Why don't you cancel the baby and leave it in kennels?

On the plus side, the infant may have secured you 64A which normally is blocked as a bassinet seat, much to the annoyance of those who want it but have no infant with them.

Blocked for GGL use only.
Seat is broken.
Blocked for everyone and will unblock at T-72.

Very confused now. (This was the same person and not 3 calls)

63b is an exit row seat. As Globaliser noted it is not available to your booking since you have an infant on it. This is the same reason 62K is not available to you.

Thanks for the help.
I was unaware that being silver meant only I personally could take the exit seat.
But this would'nt work as I have the infant attached to me in the booking.

Seems I need to get the infant moved to my wife and then I can assign myself to the exit with my wife taking my old seat.

I think the block applies to everyone on the booking not just the specific passenger who has the infant attached.

Sorry I should of said.
I called back and the second person said this to me.

However he refused to make any changes unless I could quote my membership number or my passport number. (Never been asked for those as security questions before and didn't have access at the time)

I'll try give it a go tomorrow and update on what happens.
