Missing Tier Points

Firstly apologies if this is not the right section to post, I do struggle with the workings of Forums....

So, I booked a UK return Business flight which was paid for in full and therefore should have received 80 Tier Points, I am Silver card for info which is due to expire Late October and I will miss out on next year without my missing points as detailed below.

Due to having a meeting cancelled I turned up for my return flight early and enquired about getting a seat on the flight before my scheduled one where I had a seat booked (2A). I was informed that no Business seats were available but I could travel in a Standard seat (24A) which I took as this would allow me to get home at a reasonable hour.

I was duly awarded the 40 Tier Points for the first part of my journey but only 10 for my return. I have emailed the regular channels and spent time on the phone trying to explain as best I can to someone not having a full grasp of the English language my dilemma.

Now 4 months on and i have still not been awarded the points for what I believe i should be entitled to as this was a fully paid Business Class ticket.

Where do I go from here and how the hell do i get my 30 points!!!

All comments, ideas, phone numbers and email addresses more than welcome

You can try and request an Original Routing Credit:

yes when I read this earlier this is the only possibility that may be successful. However I think the likelihood of it working is low since ORC is for when you get rebooked by the airline due to IRROPS. The OP seems to have self downgraded in order to get home earlier and in that case I am not sure they would be due to 40 TPs anymore.

I'd have thought that ORC would only be for involuntary re-routes.

The OP made a conscious decision to downgrade, and received the correct number of points for the cabin flown. Just because he/she paid for business doesn't override this.

It's like the often asked question about buying a ticket - but not flying. Even though you'd spent the money, you wouldn't receive any points.

ETA - Bugger - KARFA beat me to it!

I would say that when you moved to economy you were no longer qualified to earn club tier points.

you have 12 days left of the two week grace period to fly and earn them and call BA to have those credited to what is now your last collection year and retain silver.

Thanks for the replies,

Looks like I will need to 'engineer' another meeting ASAP!
