Can I upgrade my AA flight with Avios?

Again, the rules do not allow upgrading codeshare flights. The agent was right that you can upgrade a BA flight even if you book it via a travel agency but it does not apply to codeshare flights or flights on AA/IB. I hope you will get that upgrade, but I would be prepared for a disappointment. As I said, before, the agent must not have realized that you wanted to upgrade a codeshare flight operated by AA, which can't be upgraded with Avios. But all the good luck to you. Sincerely.
