i just priced a one way Avis rental out of interest (it only offered T3/4 drop off instead of T5) - for a normal sized group C car, they want 100 quid for a couple of hours on Sunday evening !

BA Transfer (not related to BA!) are my usual London airport transfer recommendation, well priced and have never let me down

That exercise should come up somewhere in the £30-40 range.
For a variation on this theme, the DLR to e.g. Blackwall or Poplar followed by a ZipCar Flex to T5 might be easier than getting two separate car club cars.

Even though a strike, doesn't EU261 duty of care still apply and wouldn't it cover reimbursement for the airport transfer from LCY to LHR?

I use Blacklane all over the world, never had an issue. Another one in UK that are decent in Onward Travel Solutions (OTS), tend to be slightly cheaper than Blacklane in the UK but not quite as high standard.

I’d give Addison Lee a whirl. They’re quoting about £65 for said journey and they’re pretty reliable.

+1 for Carrot Cars

Friends who live in Canary Wharf use them and told me it's about £60 for them to get to LHR. You can get a quote from their app and apparently it also gives a 10% discount.
