BA offering 50.000 seats for £50 each way

Escape to Europe for less, from August to October

There is still time for a European break. We have great fares across many of Europe’s great cities as well as beautiful beach locations. All for a great fare of £50 each-way as part of a return journey.

Hurry though, availability is limited and the most popular destinations are likely to be in big demand.

Destinations in offer

London Heathrow to:

Aberdeen, Amsterdam, Basle, Belfast, Billund, Bologna, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Edinburgh, Geneva, Glasgow, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Ibiza, Inverness, Leeds Bradford, Luxembourg, Lyon, Manchester, Milan Malpensa, Munich, Newcastle, Oslo, Palma, Paris, Prague, Stockholm, Stuttgart, Toulouse, Vienna, Zurich.

London Gatwick to:

Alicante, Almeria, Amsterdam Bergamo, Bilbao, Bordeaux, Edinburgh, Faro, Genoa, Gibraltar, Glasgow, Jersey, Malaga, Naples, Nice, Palma, Porto, Salzburg Turin, Venice and Verona.

Most of the LGW destinations have had fares well below £50/way for years. That "offer" is a bit of a joke really...

Another 'unsold inventory clearance', it seems, as Malta (MLA) is not included.

Just bought a BA ticket ATH-LHR for EUR 51.99, so £50 one way isn't that great really.

Had originally posted about getting flights last week for below the cost of this offer, however this offer is probably aimed at those who don't fly regularly and are therefore unaware that fares can be cheaper than this on a regular basis.

As others have said, o/w fares can regularly be found for less than £50 on pretty much all the destinations in the offer. With the end of summer sale due next week, there is no reason to book anything in this current promotion.

100,000 Club Europe seats for £100 each way would have been more apt for a 100th birthday ….

As always, origin is always LGW or LHR. Adding in the additional EDI to LON cost has always made this a non-starter for me.

Although would still not be anything special - a lot of CE fares start from £220ish return anyway.

£200 return to a SH+ destination would definitely catch my eye though!

Plenty of c.£250 fares available LHR-HEL rtn in CE right now outside any sale from late October onwards.

As far as the 50,000 at 50 quid goes I see how it makes for a press release but of no interest being HBO.

As I found when looking into it, despite being advertised as being from now until October, I was able to find cheaper fares past these dates and into 2020 anyway.

Could this be seen as a good sign re the pilots strike, i.e. its not going ahead so they want to sell lots of unsold seats cheap as people haven't been booking with BA? Or am I just clutching at straws?
