Officially listed at 8 pm...anyone know when it re opens for evening flights ie earlier than 8 pm that might me give some time before my 855 BA flight?

Hi,
https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_...ic-lounge.html
Says the lounge opens 3.5 hours prior to departure. There is a 2255 flight to JFK so that might imply a lounge opening at around 730pm.
There might be more information on the Cathay forum.
Regards

Every time I've flown on the BA flight out of YVR, the CX lounge has not opened before its scheduled opening time, unfortunately, leaving little to no time for it before the boarding of BA84. Being a cautious early boarder, I've never seen the inside of the CX lounge as my flights out of YVR have annoyingly all been on time. 🙄
If you want to eat before your (on-time) flight and have Priority Pass, I would recommend either the Plaza Premium or the Skyteam lounge, both of which have far more substantial offerings than the BA one. It's not fantastic food by any means, but it's pretty okay for lounge catering.

CX lounge will close on the dot when the afternoon flight departs. Skyteam lounge is personally the second best lounge at YVR related to offerings. The CX lounge will open 3 hours prior to the next flight to JFK.
Here is a thread that covers some of your questions.

They open on the dot and I was there 2 weeks ago and they told BA passengers they cannot come in as they overcrowd the lounge. The lady was very clear that the BA lounge is too small for the A350 flight and insisted the passenger goes to wait outside BA lounge.

When BA uses the A380 on LHR YVR between may and Oct I have been asked to use the Plaza Premium Lounge otherwise the BA lounge when the 747 is used. I will report back and update this thread when I fly out on Wednesday eve. The reply that the lounge lady advised that BA passengers crowd the lounge is interesting as there would be very few Cathay customers there 3 hours before the flight at the time when the BA passengers could nip in for a moment ie for a very short time before having to board.

@testycal any update on whether you could use the CX lounge before your BA flight? And what time it actually opened?
My apologies...I had intended to drop in at the Cathay Lounge but the lounge gods smiled upon myself AND MY FAMILY as the BA counter agent provided me with a guest pass for an additional 3 guests so that my wife and I and the kids were guested into the Premium Executive Lounge (it was quiet and lovely). I wanted to nip into the Cathay Lounge but boarding had begun. I am flying the same route in a few months and will update this thread with the information I receive on that particular day.

Yes I have personally done this, they will do the usual, "you have access to the BA lounge because you're on BA". But knowing OW rules this shouldn't be an issue with just a "I know".
