So the BALPA information was supplied by rank e.g. Captain, First Officer etc but not by fleet and this is fundamentally the issue in hand. Over 500 watching!

Good to know that 777 captains can now fly 380s.

If you don't have any captains, you can't fly a plane anyway no?

It seems like he's clutching at straws from a very layperson's perspective. I am struggling to see how BA can make any contingency plans if they don't know what rank they've got available or not. Only once they know that data can they apply that to the individual fleets. The type ratings aren't interchangeable across types. What am I missing?
