I have a feeling the weather may explain the shortage of crew. But to answer your question, there aren't firm timelines here, but they do expect to shut T5 at some point around midnight normally, so I can't see them being held there until 05:00 hrs, even if that is what the app is saying. Personally I'd book your spouse a hotel and get her rebooked to tomorrow. In that order. I know there are hotels going, at the moments the rates aren't too high.

Threads have been merged and the original KRK title has been overwritten. Post 1 refers to a KRK flight.

Tomorrow's BA297 to ORD is really busy already as well, but presumably they'll move people on today's onto earlier flights.

The OP put it in the thread title but not in the post contents, there was then a post consolidation under a more sensible title, since it's not just Kraków.

We've been told we can deboard at midnight if there's no progress.

Midnight can't come soon enough.

At what point can she try and abandon this to get on a flight tomorrow?

Does BA have a duty of care for her hotel tonight?

Thanks all!

Hmm, from your posting, I believe the OH is on a flight tomorrow (Friday).

Also I noticed that Heathrow has been landing to the west and Gatwick to the east this evening. I guess that creates its own ATC issues.

Uh oh, I'm on the 07:25 LHR-GOT tomorrow - are there likely to be knock-on effects? The overnight GOT rotation has been cancelled (out tonight, back tomorrow am) - does that mean they might prioritize mine tomorrow morning, or is that just wishful thinking?

Can anyone advise on what the airline's responsibility is and what is mine? Assume they have to provide hotel and meals? Really not been hit by such a weather delay, thus am a novice on the topic? We've not been cancelled yet, but talking to pilots and CC, the radar looks a glum sight

Hotels, meals (without alcohol) and transport to/from hotels. No extra cash compensation though if it's due to weather. See the EU261 thread for full details, but basically if you book your own hotel up to £200/night, you'll probably be able to claim it back without argument.

Edit: and, anachronistically, a phone call I believe, if you need to correspond with the 20th Century.
