Any info on why the refurbishment program seems to have slowed to a snails pace? I can’t see the 777s being completed even by next summers IATA schedule at this rate.

pretty much the 300ERs left to do. I want to believe G-STBG is currently undergoing a refit. It’s been at CWL for 3 and a half weeks now

Mco to LHR

Are they delaying the change showing the new CS when you book your flights until a week or so before the flight? They’re using the upgraded 777 pretty much everyday for MCO-LHR but it shows the old Club World seats starting on June 1for that route. We fly MCO-LHR on June 30 and we’re hoping they continue with the upgraded aircraft on this route, but we don’t know for sure.

G-YMMT finally returns from CWL this afternoon with the new CS interior (taking the total number of CS equipped aircraft to 45) and we now have G-STBG and G-STBJ both in Cardiff, so one can only hope they are starting to prioritise the B77W fleet for upgrades to get at least 50% of them done by the end of the summer.

Any thoughts on YMMA, R, S and U? Originally planned for the LGW non CS configuration.

I've also noticed this and am flying in August. The old config though does lend itself to the possibility of FLUB

These last 4 are all due to head to CWL for a CS refit, BA has been clear that 29 of the 43 strong B777-200ER fleet will have the CS interiors, it is now just a case of whether they prioritize the B777-300ER fleet for the rest of the year to enable them to consistently serve high-profile routes like LAX / JFK etc. with CS aircraft 100% of the time.

surely STBG has to be a refit. It’s been there for almost a month. 28th may will make it a month

At this point I think it is in for a CS upgrade, but I’ve been burned before trying to figure out the refit schedule logic (especially with the B77W’s), so I’m just waiting until we see confirmation in the form of an insiders post or actual pictures!

Sorry if this is covered already - I'm booked on a 77W which looks like a close match with what's shown here as 77H. There's a mini-cabin up front, 10 or so rows in the middle and then a 5 row section behind that.

The flight is still looking fairly empty, except for rows 5-7 in the mini-cabin up the front are all taken. Out of the two other sections is there a preferred spot to sit, or all pretty much the same? The one thing I've noticed is there's only 1 set of toilets in front of row 8 for the whole Club World so the closer I sit to the front here the more rows of people I'll have walking up and back throughout the flight. So perhaps the back section likely to be quieter?

For anybody travelling to Munich tomorrow (26th), the BA948 (departs LHR @ 06.55am) and the return BA949 (now departs 11.10am instead of 10.50am) are being operated by the freshly upgraded G-YMMT B777 which just returned from CWL yesterday in Club Suite layout. The upgauge is the reason for the 20min delay.

Oh the disappointment... Swapped out for an A321neo now. YMMT is going to SFO instead.

With almost 3/4 of BA's LHR based 777 fleet now fitted with Club Suites, I thought I'd try and compile which routes currently operated by 777s are still regularly seeing old Club World aircraft. I've based this on what planes have flown which route in the last week.

777-200
  • San Francisco (Mixture of CS & CW)
  • Bridgetown
  • Bengaluru
  • Nairobi
  • Accra (Mixture of CS & CW/Also operated by A35K)

777-300
  • Philadelphia (Also operated by CS 777-200)
  • Dallas
  • Denver (Also operated by CS 777-200)
  • Chicago (Also operated by CS 777-200, 787-10 & A35K)
  • Boston (Mixture of CS & CW/Also operated by A380)
  • Dubai (Mixture of CS & CW)
  • Lagos (Also operated by CS 777-200)
  • Johannesburg (Also operated by 787-9/Occasional CS 777-300)
