just noticed how the 77W with club suites are mostly operating the MLE and BGI rotations, with JFK sprinkled here and there.

In an effort to maximise my TPs this year, I have built connections into my long hauls trips at all opportunities.

This recently has presented an opportunity to try out club suite, connecting on BA 296 from Chicago early Feb. Excited to see how the new product looks and feels.

G-YMMC is a LGW based type which was converted to 32J/48W/252Y back in 2019, hence not on the Wiki.
It positioned to LHR from LGW on Jan 3rd and appears to be scheduled to operate a few LHR routes, just as G-VIIO and G-YIIR (both LGW based types) having being doing for the past few weeks / months.

G-YMMG just touched down at LHR. Been at CWL since 15th October and has been refitted in 3-class 48J 40W 184Y config, with Club Suites and 10 abreast Y. Due to operate to NAS on 9th January. This aircraft was previously in 12F layout with all other seats removed for cargo operations during the pandemic.

BA have committed to refurbishing all 777s by the end of this year, so if the refurbishments remain on schedule and a 77W operates the flight, chances will be reasonably high. Currently 5 of 16 77Ws have the new product.

ExpertFlyer is showing the 77L configuration, so a refurbished 3-class 772 with Club Suite. The actual aircraft hasn't been allocated yet.

Aircraft don’t get allocated until a few days before departure. Even then, changes are extremely likely up until the flight departs.

Unfortunately, in your case, the likelihood of Club Suites making an appearance are extremely slim as MCO is operated on a LGW based 777, 2 or 3 of these are specially based at LHR at present for operations to MCO (a LGW classic) as well as ACC and ISB - both earmarked for a shift to LGW in the near future.

However saying this, the LGW 777s have also made an appearance on LHR-YYZ and LHR-LAS in the last few days so anything is possible these days!

Looking to fly LHR-LAX on Monday 1/10.

BA281 is operated by the 77W
BA269 is operated by the 77E

Which has a higher chance of being operated by the new Club Suites? Checking the seat map on BA281 shows the new J layout of 1-2-1.

Does LAX normally get Club Suites?

Many thanks for the information, I knew it was a long shot but no harm in hoping.

ThanksI I just came here to enquire why the seat map for selecting a seat on BA is different than any 777 listed on the BA website (WT+). Your information is great, too bad BA has not updated their site. Thanks very much!

LAX was an out station that saw the Club Suite on the morning rotation at the end of last summer pretty consistently, but sadly it has been more miss then hit since then. Given you are looking at flights for Monday - I would be pretty comfortable with the current plane allocation (i.e. morning flight = B77W / afternoon = B77E) unless a tech issue arises between now and then on one of the five B77W aircraft. The early summer timetable for this year does have LAX being served consistently with 2 daily B77W’s (along with JFK x1 and BOS x 2) so hopefully that sticks.

G- STBH just arrived into CWL from LHR as BA9175. Given this particular aircraft only left Cardiff on Dec 15th after a month long stay, I would be inclined to think this visit is to get the CS and new First fitted.
