Advice on potential LHR delay

Morning all

Heading off to Miami on BA211 today. The assigned aircraft (G-CIVL) hasnít left PHX yet and is showing a 1 hour 15 minute delay for our departure already.

At what point (if at all) could an aircraft already at LHR be subbed in? And am I potentially able to shift onto one of the earlier BA/AA flights as a result of this estimated delay?

Thanks in advance!

  • If youíre travelling on this flight, and we havenít contacted you, please check in and make sure you are at the airport in time for the original scheduled departure time, because we are doing everything possible to improve the delay.
This statement in "Flight Status" means that, the specific aircraft assigned for that flight could change at any time and the flight could depart on time. There is also a possibility for them to switch the aircraft last minute.
If they were sure about the delay, they would have sent you an e-mail including the new check-in desk close time alongside with the new departure time.

AA39 and BA209 seem fully booked and BA 207 ( 10:40 departure ) has two seats available ( one in CW and the other one in WTP ), so for today, it seems impossible that you would be rerouted on an earlier flight.

Thanks for the advice - appears weíve been swapped to CIVD, so from one bird with ancient IFE to another...

My flight two weeks ago had three birds assigned to it during day of departure. Final Mid J had the new IFE which was worth the swaps and hour delay

Waiting to go at DUB, flight is delayed 90 mins and back to CIVL again. Good to know multiple same day changes arenít unusual!
