What the hell is going on at JFK? And thank you BA!
Twice in 3 weeks immigration is frankly ridiculous. Don't remember it ever being this bad.
But BA pulled me out the queue as GGL and was taken straight through this time and handed connecting boarding passes. Bravo. Might invest in GE now! |
Not to mention several 744s being swapped to 777s today 🧐
Never seen flights so busy . |

Landed on the 173 at 14:20 local and we’re still trying to get to T7.

Typical of JFK in the summer. Just wait and see how fun it is when thunderstorms hit. Unless one is going to NY, avoiding JFK is usually a good idea. That said, if you come to the US with any regularity, I’d highly recommend you apply for GE (if eligible). |
Why are the automated passport machines always roped off, or have they been removed now ? They were roped off last time I went which was the end of 2018, a long time since I’ve stepped foot on any aircraft (that’s another story). |

I was told at Christmas whilst queuing at T7 that the machines were for US passports only, this didn’t make sense as non-US immigration queues were huge (as usual) but I couldn’t quite believe this as 6 months prior I had used the machines and they were very efficient but you still had to see a person behind a desk after you’d completed the machine. GE is the sole useful solution for any traveler who does no frequently enough to justify the time and money required.

Not eligible (probably) and my travel has become somewhat erratic recently. I will just have no option but to brave the kiosks and hope I don’t get the really, really old guy (looks about 90). Booked into row 10A/B on a 772 so hoping it will be better than last time. AA is getting to be more attractive despite the rock hard seats ! |

Ouch sounds nasty. My last 2 arrivals at JFK were on the BA1 and on a late flight with short connection so met at gate and escorted to kiosks, next CBP office for immigration and Customs. The problem is now with GE if you apply now due to the backlog in the US I doubt you’d get one now before the end of the year. |
