BA2119 Future Flights - Saatchi Gallery 01 AUG - 26 AUG

BA have partnered with the Royal College of Art to offer an insight into how future generations could or might be circumventing the globe.

Do they really mean "circumvent" the globe?

I can't work out whether this is a clever linguistic play.

It is a very odd use...
I mean, astronauts could be considered to be circumventing the globe, perhaps just a really odd way to describe interplanetary travel?

Definition of 'circumvent' from the web:

verb (used with object)

to go around or bypass:to circumvent the lake; to circumvent the real issues.

Personally I'd have used 'circumnavigate'

It's an incorrect usage. We circumvent road works and taxes. We circumnavigate territory.

Two Tickets for This Available for Sunday

I have two tickets for this on Sunday but cannot use (Back to Back Slots - 2.55pm and 3.05pm) as I'll be in Madrid on the A350 flights!! Would anyone like to make me an offer? (Hope this is allowed but I don't want them to go to waste!)

How big is the non-VR part of the exhibition? Is it worth trekking all the way out to west London for, or is the VR thing the main event? I might go tomorrow, but there aren't any VR tickets available.

To answer my own question, I think it's still worth the trip even if you can't get tickets for the VR bit. Entertained me for about 45 minutes, although it does leave you feeling a bit like someone has just vomited a PR thesaurus on you - one of my favourite lines was "We'll be connected to the ground through invisible networks." They're clearly expecting that in-flight wifi rollout to take a while, if it's still going to be noteworthy in 2119...

Here's what we found growing down the side of a Club World seat...

Sakara is so hungover that she thinks she's flying LHR-NRT on an A320...

These CE portion sizes are getting ridiculous...

Our customers told us they love the Club Suite foot coffin so much that we'll soon be offering full-body coffins for your "freedom of movement"...
