I didn’t see it unfortunately, sorry! I imagine it is a popular dish.

My call bell also went unanswered for 15 mins, I eventually tracked down a water bottle in the forward galley, nobody around.
Ok so this is completely unusual for SQ. If you wrote this as feedback to them, I’d expect a bottle of Krug in the mail. Completely unacceptable by SQ standards and, unlike BA where they don’t care and it’s luck of the draw if you get a good crew or not, SQ will be horrified and actively try to fix this for you. Please let them know.

Fwiw the second crew in SQ 4F is usually in the galley during service. This isn’t unusual, even for 8F services on other airlines.

The OP did not like the seat for sleeping. Not sure how your proposal will deal with this.

Also would appreciate the back up for "BA where they don't care".

Have had great crews on planes that .. well should not be flying, and at the same, have had so so crews on a newer plane

I will take the great crew first
I very much agree with this. I haven't flown every F out there, but BA is my favorite especially when you include the experience ex LHR. Maybe I've been lucky, but I've had a fantastic crew every. single. time. I'm flying w/ BA again in December and about to book a trip in May of next year. I'm excited to see the new soft product. I'm always happy to fly it.

I just got back from a flight on SQ in J. Outbound was great, but in-bound the crew was less than attentive. I was not impressed on the in-bound.

I'm not sure I follow on the LHR ground experience being a favourite. Taking a train to C gates is not my idea of a great experience. Having said that, I don't think any of the other airlines have a much better ground experience at LHR (I think SQ offers a buggy - but I'll gladly wait another 30 years before I use that).

I don't like the transport between gates at LHR, but I haven't found it to be a big deal. When I said ground experience I meant the First Wing and the Concorde Room.

Yes travelling from 'the regions' you miss out on any experience gained via First Wing although you miss security again arriving direct into T5. CCR good but not mind blowing. Transfer to B/C could be made better with escort /car/ buggy maybe. I'll learn to live with it though, although that may not be the right approach when a paid F at £3K !
Nice to hear positives for a change

I'm looking at flights in May 2020 right now ex US for ~$2k each way. To me, that's totally worth it. AA is $10k right now for the same route.

I don't care about an escort to the plane. I don't need that. I want to have a good time in the lounge, on the flight, and get my steps in on the way, especially since I won't be on my bike while abroad.

Care to share this crazy pricing route and dates?

BA F can IMO be very good, and I agree the bed on the SQ 777s is hard and I like firm, but it's hard. That said, there is really nothing where BA can touch SQ from seat size and roominess to aircraft always being spotless - cleaning is an issue with BA - food quality is close I will say although on BA it's not always a given you can choose what you want and the Book the Cook menu is quite extensive - some very good - others so-so.
