Flowers on plane
Hi guys - just wondering what or if we are allowed to bring flowers onto the plane ? I was reading:
https://travel.stackexchange.com/que...ghts-in-the-us
And they seem to suggest it is more hassle than its worth. I have never seen flowers on sale in the airport so I guess it is just isn't ideal to bring them on board? Was going to surprise the gf but I am not sure if it is actually possible lol

Is there a box or something you guys recommend if i were to buy one (just for future reference). I wouldn't imagine it being carried in a plastic bag to be particularly wise - probably get squashed during screening lol

No idea about flowers but I did once take a 2lb trout on a BA aircraft.
Unless there are import restrictions I can't see there being a problem. Making friends with the cabin crew will help.

On a more serious note It's actually a good question and not one I think I've seen before for travelling outwards. Where are you off to?
It may be that you are not allowed Flowers/Plants in other countries and Australia springs to mind as an example. I'm now curious as to what the official answer may be.

I often see flowers on aircraft, notably on KLM, and a conventional bag or paper wrapper works fine, just board last and place carefully in the overheads. Many florists do provide white card boxes as an optional extra.

I seem to recall a flight in one of the Baltic countries where almost every local on board was carrying flowers. Estonia maybe?
Giving flowers to anyone is a very nice gesture so good on you. ^

I’ve always bought back cut tulips from the Dutch bulbfields and never had a problem, indeed the cabin crew commented how many brownie points I’d get from my mother. There also used to be a Flying Flowers retail outlet in Jersey airport. It was landslide but sure the airport has changed now.
