Lounge access when in transit...
This may be a stupid questions, BUT...if I fly to Sydney First Class with BA, but then my next flight is via Air NZ in economy a few hours after arrival, does this mean I have no access to first class lounge in Sydney? Thanks...

Correct

If you were flying economy on Qantas on the same ticket you would have access under Oneworld rules
