I think Virgin names/d their service. IIRC the LHR-IAD was called "The Diplomat". Can't remember where or when I read that, but was certainly a good few years ago.

I'm not sure 'The Sh!t Service' will gain as much traction at BA.

I'm yet to book an October trip to NYC, do you think it'll go that long? We tend to have a long summer break for travel to the US...

We've been hearing this for a while - granted, they've scaled back to one a day, removed the departure gate lounge and perhaps other bits and bobs - but it's still around. I'd say yes, unless the August grounding of the aircraft reveals something unexpected and very costly to fix.
