My concern is arrival time, which may be very variable due to weather, ATC, fuel consumption etc. It’s all a lottery.

As to the mangling of proper English, there are no excuses except poor education and inadequate upbringing.

What annoys me is the use of 'Terminal 5' in the first place, particularly for the landing. We haven't took off from Terminal 5, similarly we haven't 'landed at Terminal 5'. We've landed on 09/27 L/R. They could easily change it to that and then say something like 'and now taxing to Terminal 5'.....

Well aright, now that we're into the wording, my least favourite is the American use of the word momentarily. We will be landing 'momentarily' as if that means we'll be landing and then taking off again immediately. Momentarily in English means for a very short time. To the Americans it means in a short time.

Normal? We are talking about BRITISH Airways so saying “into” certainly was not the norm. I notice that nowadays any old preposition seems to do.

There may be more people in the US than in the UK but I'm taking it upon myself to educate them one at a time

i feel like I’ve stumbled into the AA “stupidest, least substantive thing you can complain about” thread...it’s tempting to weigh in, but I shall restrain myself.

Glad I’m not the only one who has a bug bear at adverbs bring inappropriately prefixed to binary states. See also: “really unique” and “very pregnant”.
When I was in nursing years ago, some woman informed me that her daughter was “somewhat pregnant “. I replied that it was better than being a little bit dead. She didn’t get it.

I trust Madame Pucci that you would never end a sentence with a preposition?

That would be an abomination up with which I think you would never put.

I would not start with one either. Ernie Wise plays come to mind!

que pasa

Since this is already fairly OT I’ll offer that I was told by someone that cares about such things that US spelling is closer to older English than UK spelling, as the u for example in colour arrived via the French.
