He's been putting in the carbs hasn't he? He needs the Tom Kerridge diet.

Meanwhile, Liz the German looks good for her age. Pity she doesn't take Phil the Greek with her any more.

Official Visit photos - BA Instagram account

For those that don’t have Instagram or wish to see some photos...

I’m unsure what Her M is looking through in this

Does anyone know what is being unveiled?

The monarch, 93, spoke about her first flight on the Concord in 1977 and a 17-hour non-stop journey from Perth to London in 2011.
It was for a flight for herself and the Duke of Edinburgh to Monetgo Bay in Jamaica.
The Queen also admiringly remembered the 'smooth lines' of Concord from her first flight on it, returning from Barbados in 1977.
Legendary proofreading, as one rightly expects from their ilk.

That is the visitors book. There is a photo elsewhere of her signature in it.

It was a commemorative plaque.

Was anything announced?

Considering there is a pen next to her it could just be the visitor's book for her to sign in?

Looks like a specially-bound commemorative edition of the BoB menu to me.

I suspect she’s trying to work out why her much-loved Afternoon Tea doesn’t actually come with tea.

Even daring to mention Wi-Fi in a speech like that is an abomination and makes me cringe. BA has just screwed up the whole thing royally in comparison to their competition. For instance with AY I get free 30 min normal browsing Wi-Fi in business class (not to mention it's 30 min free for AY+ Gold and Platinum, irrespective of cabin) and AY+ Platinum Lumo (the equivalent of BAEC GGL) gets it free with streaming speed for the entire duration of the flight, irrespective of cabin. And AA has had a wide Wi-Fi in their fleet for several years now.

In all her travels, The Times reports today that she has never been to Greece.
How can someone get to her age without going to Greece?
Phil the Greek clearly has a deep aversion to things Greek.

The reason, he believes, is because of the fraught history of the monarchy in Greece, which affected Prince Philip's immediate family.

"Prince Philip doesn't like Greece, because they put his father [Prince Andrew] on trial, and he might have been executed," says Vickers.

"In 1922, they all had to flee." Prince Philip was a baby at the time and rarely returned.

It is not completely true that the Queen has never been to Greece - she did go there at the invitation of King Paul, Prince Philip's cousin, in 1950, but that was before she became Queen.

Indeed the Foreign and Commonwealth Office has a panel which approves all state visits, called the Royal Visits Committee.

"There are always more requests for visits than can be accommodated," says a spokesperson at the FCO, and a trip's foreign policy benefit is a key factor when choosing a location.
