A350 to Tel Aviv

Seems that from December BA will be sending A350 with New Club World to TLV

https://www.jpost.com/International/...nations-589767

Looking online for late December, seems to be on BA162/163

Just a shame that it doesn’t quite meet sufficient mileage for 140 TPs (unlike HEL-TLV... just).

The Tel Aviv route is eligible for 140 TPs in J as it's over 2000 miles.

I look forward to going there one day, my destination bucket list is growing. Back on topic I am very much looking forward to the A350 and hope it's on the LAX route which is my usual and favourite.

Can't see it on there soon without an F cabin.

That's the winter time. In the summer it leaves LHR at 22.30 arriving at 05.30 and leaves TLV at 09.20 arriving at 12.55. I wonder if it will be used in the summer as currently they use the ex-BMI A321s.

EDIT: A321 remain for the summer.

Maybe. Until this afternoon the winter schedule to TLV still had the 788 listed. So its anyone's guess what might change before the summer schedule is completely decided. At the moment it is showing a 3 class 777 every morning from TLV, which is different to the current position where there is a 4 class 777 most days. That could be because they may change it to a 351 and don't want problems with selling F and then having to cancel it.

That's because it actually is under 2000mi, but BA counts it as 2001mi, same with BEY, in order to increase the tier points gained but also the Avios required to book it.

This seems like a direct response to VS starting TLV service. BA162 has also been retimed to depart on pretty much the same time as the VS flight.

This is bookable at ba.com from 1st December.

Swapping a 787-8 for an A350 is a chunky capacity increase.

Maybe a good (short route) to speed up the crew / pilot training scheme?
