I've only ever had one go-around in my life and it was also EDI. Last year sometime. After turning left past the Pentlands we picked up a tailwind and were too fast. Go-around route was over Fife towards St. Andrews, unlike the route taken by the OP.

At a guess, the chances are that whatever happened was several orders of magnitude lower than that which would warrant a report by avherald.

I was on the Queensferry Crossing when you took that pic, thought the BA plane was in an odd place in the sky.

Ah, @BobServant…. my post and I are honoured to have been noted!

Your best recent tweet has to be 26th March:
"20 years ago today, on a sunny day in Broughty Ferry, I turned to the most beautiful woman in the world and said "Sod it, let's get married!". Yes it was reckless but I've never once regretted it. Even though the woman said no and asked me to go and sit somewhere else on the bus."

Sadly I am not the real Bob, just a fan of his work.

For one thing, he would never admit to anything that could imply he had been in, or was travelling to Fife...

That’s a great picture - I’m sure that BA would feature it in that slot in High Life, or is it Business Life, where pictures from passengers feature

Had one coming into EDI last year, as I had posted elsewhere wasn't helped by a nervous sounding FO announcing he had just aborted landing in Glasgow.

Felt we weren't right coming over the railway and the power duly kicked in.

Upon landing at the second attempt a rather less flusted sounding captain came on to announce we had indeed landed in Edinburgh.

As the photo shows it was a tad more murkey on this day.

Starting from the right, Forth Rail Bridge, rail traffic only, middle, Forth Road Bridge, 1960s and struggling to cope with weight of traffic, now public transport only. Left, Queensferry Crossing, recently opened and handles general traffic.

Pedant mode on:

The official name of the rail bridge is actually the Forth Bridge.

Pedant mode off.
