Renovated BA Club Lounge at JFK now open
Looks like the newly renovated BA Club Lounge opened yesterday at JFK.

It features a Scottish-themed cocktail bar, BrewDog Beer bar, and several updated dining options.

I'll be there early tomorrow AM on BA178, so will report back if I've got enough time to explore what's there— will be limited due to the early time, but certainly looks better than what was there previously!

Lounge was great, but to be fair there are a lot more staff than usual to ensure it runs smoothly. Had the impossible burger in CW Dining and it genuinely tasted like meat!

I guess I'm not alone in thinking the furniture - armchairs, dining sets, bar stools - all looks pretty cheap and not at all homely, no?

My first impressions from the photos is that it looks quite crisp and spartan, and very brightly lit, but there isn't much richness or softness in the lighting or furnishings.

Also I hate dining chairs with rounded backs like that because you can't put your jacket on them - annoying!

Glad to hear the food was good though.

Definitely not homely, but pleasant, modern, and much less cramped than the previous fit out.

Thanks for pics. It certainly looks cleaner and modern, I wouldn’t say luxury as such but I hope this lack of luxury soft touches is due to the bigger project happening at T7/T8 and this being a temporary sprucing up!

I look forward to trying it.

In what way is a cocktail with orange juice in it a Manhattan?

At least it looks like BA are trying a bit more on this route now.

Oh GOD not more aspirational self-help slogans writ large on walls, I thought the trend for those had thankfully passed.

The vibe I'm getting from the pics is 'Ibis, but with less colour'. And I mean Ibis not Ibis Styles.

Any other comparators?

Homely in the British sense or the American? They have opposite connotations.

I was not aware of the American meaning! I meant mainly the bolded part of the sense here:

simple but cosy and comfortable, as in one's own home
