Stroller collected at gate at LHR?

Hi all -

BA's site states "If you have a small, fully collapsible and lightweight pushchair/stroller(with maximum dimensions of 117cm x 38cm x 38cm/46in x 15in x 15in when the pushchair is collapsed), you will qualify to take this right to the aircraft door and collect at the aircraft door at most airports." On a flight operated by an A380 to LHR, is it likelier that a stroller that fit this description would be returned at the gate, or at baggage claim?

Thanks in advance!

Pushchairs / strollers are returned at the aircraft door / gate at LHR (at LGW, you have to walk to the baggage claim to get it back)

Nearly all gates at T5 are fitted with lifts to send the strollers back to the gate, your stroller will have a large orange tag attached to it with Return To Gate, it will not be brought to the aircraft door but at the top of the jet bridge where it is clearly signposted Stroller Collection.

Great, thank you for the detailed description. So when I gate-check it at ORD, it's either:

(1) GA attaches an orange "Return To Gate" tag, stroller is returned to the gate; or
(2) GA does not attach an orange "Return To Gate" tag, stroller goes to baggage claim

?

Correct, the gate agent at ORD will take it off you just before you enter the jet bridge, I suggest you use the return to gate service, the tag will be attached at the check in counter.

Thanks. We may not have the option of Return To Gate, since our stroller when folded may be slightly outside the size limits for Return To Gate, but we will try very hard to do so.

Most strollers our customers use don’t but unless they are huge they are normally accepted.

According to the manufacturer's website, this particular stroller folds to 28x22x16. Is that far enough outside the limits that it would likely go to baggage claim?

Does anyone have experience at LAX? My daughter is disabled and needs her stroller back at the gate as carrying her for a long period of time could be painful for her.

I'd contact BA, but if I'm reading this right, they might be able to carry the stroller in the cabin:

We would try and get it in the cabin, so please donít worry.
