Hong Kong Check In

Hi There

Apologies if elsewhere but I have not been able to find it. I will be flying in First from HKG to London on BA32. Can anybody tell me what the earliest time I can check in at the airport ? Many thanks

There are a few threads on this, I think its about 4hrs at the airport. But why not use in-town check-in which you can do at any time that day?

BA check in desks open about 7pm. City check in is effectively anytime

The in-town check-in is brilliant. Saves lugging bags out to the airport.

+1 for in town check-in at Central or Kowloon Airport Express stations. Then you can breeze to the airport HBO and go airside whenever you want.

Definitely use the in-town checkin. There is even a shuttle bus from most of the major hotels to the Airport Express stations (either Central or Kowloon as appropriate). You can check in bags at any time, for example after checking out of a hotel in the morning. Then you are already in an MTR station so you can go where you like for the day.

What's the point of checking in at the airport?

I suppose someone might be unfortunate enough to be staying at Disneyland Resort or one of the AsiaWorld Expo hotels, therefore nearer the airport than the airport checkin.

I think from those places the answer is still: Go to Hong Kong Central or Kowloon, check in your bags, and go see some of real Hong Kong before you leave!

If you have checked in online can you just bag drop at the MTR?

It's at the Airport Express part of the station so a bit of an underground trek from the MTR at Central, but yes. Can be queues but usually pretty quick and efficient.
