BA question

Hi, I am travelling MAN - PIT with a stop at LHR. When I change at LHR will I have to recheck my luggage, or will it go straight through to PIT, also, will I have to clear security again at LHR?

Many thanks.

If you are on a single ticket and in transit your luggage will be checked through to PIT (if you have no other stops in the US that is before).
You will need to pass security again in LHR. I believe you will arrive at domestic arrivals and then enter the main security in T5 after which you will be airside again.

It will go straight through - no need to recheck - I assume this is all one booking.

Just for clarity regarding security, in this case you would not have to reclear security at LHR, because it’s a same terminal (T5>T5) domestic to international connection on a single ticket.

If your onward flight were from a different terminal (eg T3), then you would have to reclear security on arrival at T3, since LHR does not segregate domestic and international arriving pax on terminal transfers.
