Ba1376 LHR to MAN took wrong turn

Frustrating to have to wait for a tug at MAN because the pilot turned into a cul de sac in error....

Still, worse things have happened and the CSM was lovely with golden ticket inbound in any case.

Yes. Which seat are you in? I probably missed you in CCR as well.

45 minute delay when there was no real need.

There is quite a lot of work being carried out at MAN at the moment, much of it on the taxiways in preparation for the ‘new’ terminal - it can look very confusing following the route to the terminal, some very strange and indecipherable routes to the gates.

Make a u-turn.
Proceed to the route.
You have yet to reach the destination.

I was in 2A.

Disappointing that the Captain and First Officer kept themselves locked in the cockpit while the passengers (finally) disembarked.

I wonder if they had some additional paperwork to complete? I suspect some mis-communication somewhere as to which taxiway to take. I appreciate there is work taking place, but this should be clear. So either they got it wrong or the airport did.

I hope no one had anybody waiting to pick them up with MAN new charging system. When travelling without bags I normally text my wife as soon as we are on the apron to get in position to pick me up. After 30 mins I believe there is a 25 penalty

Perhaps they were exchanging some choice words with each other, squabbling over an upside down map.

I was waiting to pick my son-in-law up from this flight.

He sent me a text from the aircraft to say there was a problem.

Hence, I remained parked up away from the Airport. When he had collected his bags he sent another text.

We have a pre-arranged spot quite close to T3 where I picked him up, safely away from the drop off/pick-up area where you get charged.

It is starting to get well know where these ‘free’ areas are located now as there were quite a few others waiting in the same area to be picked up.

Pilots are human too, and mistakes do happen. Even on a good day, Manchester has a confusing taxiway layout.

Ridiculous. Pilot should be disciplined for this.
