380 or 777 in F from LHR-HKG

Hi

Planning a special trip for the two of us (sale pricing) and wondering which is the best plane to get for F travel - gut says the A380 as a newer plane design or are they the same (hard product experience) regardless of the plane type?

Thanks
Sahajesh.

I only fly CX on this route or QR via Doha

however, having done F on both 777 and a380, a380 every time

A380 without doubt IMHO.

Thanks all. Will go for that - now need to choose a hotel for the first 5 days too!

Plenty of hotels, so so many at all different price levels but for what its worth I've stayed at The Cordis in Mongkok (formerly The Langham in Mongkok) a fair few times over the years last time in November last year for a week.

Wonderful staff, service, food, rooms especially the club floor rooms. The hotel is linked to a huge mall which the MTR is easily accessed from from the centre.

I'd also choose the A380 too.

There are better and more interesting hotels than The Peninsula.

Indeed.
HK hotels tend to have small rooms, beware, and views make a huge difference in pricing.
Hotel prices vary immensely over time. ALthough they tend to go up and down together during busy/quiet periods, correlation varies. So you have to search depending on your budget and preferred location.
But make certain you choose A380 and window seat, row 2 or 3

Agree that the A380 is better but the A380 is now the later flight of the two. The earlier, I find, is significantly better for getting over jet lag. In fact, I find flights to Singapore/Japan/Hong Kong that depart 6pm to 7pm are the best flights jet lag wise. That is just my experience though.

For our staycations we usually stay at the Langham in TST, Ritz Carlton or the W. The Ritz has the best views and the best spa in my opinion, plus the second highest bar in the world.

The recently opened Murray has joined my top picks.

Take the triple 7... you stand a good chance of only sharing the cabin with 3 or 4 others. The 380 is always full and every time I’ve been on the triple 7 it’s a 3-8 load in First.

Bullswood Mar 21, 2019 12:32 am

Er...perhaps that's because the A380 is better!
