BA NEW CLUB SUITE, WILL I GET IT?

What with the arrival of BA's biggest change in business class for some decades, this thread is intended to ask the inevitable question that I am sure many will want to know the answer to, something along the lines of "I am travelling on XX Jan 2036 from Heathrow to Sydney, will I get the new business class seat?"

Please do ask if you are not sure if your flight will fly the seat or not, its safe to say the more info you provide the more accurate the answer will be.

Aircraft involved: A350-1000XWB (also known as A351 and A350-1000), B787-10 (also known as B781) and a limited number of B777-200ER (B772).

Unless the new A350’s are deployed when they get delivered in the next 6 months, we don’t have much more info beyond Bangalore, then it’s a case of the refurb agenda also slotting into the equation which has one aircraft earmarked for the JFK route as of October 2019, with further refurbs to come but routes are unknown.

The best advice I’ve had is to take a flight that suits your schedule and budget. Risking your schedule for a particular seat at such an early stage in the new CS implementation programme is probably not very wise.

Originally BA112 but got cancelled.

The seat map briefly changed to the new club seat format with 8 F seats and then back to 14 F seats.

On BA.com the flight shows the current 777 layout with 14F in my booking and first is sold out.

From what I can see on FR, BA174 is operated by the aircraft that operates BA177 LHR-JFK on the previous day.

BA.com is showing BA177 on the 27th as a new club seat 777 with 8 F seats.
I cannot find any flights on the 28th with the new seat.

Is it likely that my flight will actually be one with the new seat?

I'm conflicted on a potential downgrade should the aircraft change as it's my parents first F flight but the new club suites would be nice to try.
According to Expertflyer the 174 JFK to LHR is the current club world layout. 8F. 48J.
9 across in Y is a giveaway too as these will eventually become 10 across.

I would stick with F. The F soft product is getting great feedback, well on FT at least.

Do you mean 14F?

I'm not looking to downgrade but if the aircraft were to change it would likely have 14 booked in F with only 8 seats on the new aircraft so 6 people would need to be moved out.

Seat map

Hi,

Booked on BA49 LHR-SEA on February 13th 2020. Cannot find a 777 seat map to match the one on MMB. J cabin starts at row 5 with 4 across, back to row 17, only exception is row 8 just one seat. Is this the new CS config ?

TIA

Yes apologies. 14F. We have no details yet of the 8F refurbed layout. So this definitely isn’t (as of today) a refurbed aircraft nor has the new CS. It could, however all change.

Thanks for the useful feedback.

I'm gradually building up my lifetime tier points.

However, since I have many options, I will probably take SQ as I can't guarantee getting the new Club Suites.

our first time in the new suite is LHR JFK in October - our flight is actually a bit earlier than the winter schedule start date, so others may be lucky too to get it before the winter schedule date. Its on the BA173.

And got it again in November, so pretty lucky I guess. I wasn't expecting to fly in the new seat till a year or so.

got 7 and 8 k both times. everything else was gone by the time i realised they had changed the seat map over.

Pretty excited as only seen it on the ground, not in action so to speak.

I’ve booked a flight to HKG in the coming summer time. Not sure if there’d be any chance to get the new suite. Given the availability of F on this route, I guess 350 would be out of the radar... best bet would be those refurbished 77W!

First 77W due to be refitted next July I think, plus 4 new frames due for delivery throughout 2020 with Club Suite. So if your flight remains a 77W, then yes there is a chance.

Still looking slim. 77W is replacing super high J routes as it’s going on to have 72 J seats even more than 777x. Apparently JFK will be a mix of 77W and 77E
