Whatever number is specified by the CAA, as BA are doing out and backs it will be an even number. Simulator time is expensive, so after the required course better to finish on the aircraft, which is paid for by the passengers.

And it's not just the crew in the pointy end that need the familiarisation, it's the ones in the back as well.

I expect the flight deck will be heavy crews (3 maybe even 4) on some of these familiarisation flights.

Hi all, first time poster
I’m booked on BA107 in F from LHR to DXB next June with an onward connection to PER with EK.
Can anybody offer any advice about what will happen if the current 777 aircraft is replaced with an A350
and I’m bumped to J. BA are still selling F seats for the flight.
Original booking was a QFF redemption.

Welcome to Flyertalk and welcome to the BA forum rustyj, it's great to see you here, and I hope we will see more of you.
If this happens you can get a refund, a rebooking on to alternative BA services (irrespective of redemption availability), rebooking on to another oneworld airline (if there is redemption availability), or accept the downgrade. In the latter case there is a reimbursement mechanism involved, full details in the EC261 thread, which you will find in the BA Forum Dashboard. There are quite a few "if" statements that would need to line up before this happens, so I wouldn't make any assumptions here.

G-XWBA had its first customer acceptance flight today. It will be interesting to see how many BA will need for their 1st frame - still 8 days before delivery!! Wish I could have got an invite for the delivery - worth a trip from GVA!!
