Indeed! They're not going to load it (for a first of type) until they are sure the plane can do it, and for that they plan has to have been received and whatever acceptance/preparation operations have been completed.

Flights for the first week of the Summer 2020 schedule started to go on sale this week. PHX currently showing as being operated by a 4 class 77W from 29th March 2020.

3 routes I think could be possible:

Dubai - BA109/BA108 - In previous years operated a daily 4 class 777 on this rotation, however showing as being operated by a 3 class 777 from start of Summer 2020 timetable

Philadelphia - BA067/BA066 - In previous years operated a daily Super Hi-J 747 on this rotation, however showing as being operated by a 3 class 777 from start of Summer 2020 timetable

Washington - BA293/BA292 - In previous years operated a daily 4 class 777 on this rotation, however showing as being operated by a 3 class 777 from start of Summer 2020 timetable

This article got me thinking about the World Traveller Plus config on the A350:

https://runwaygirlnetwork.com/2019/0...xex-questions/

Yet Virgin Atlantic will be installing eight-abreast, not seven-abreast, Collins MiQ seats on its A350, in the tighter 2-4-2 configuration. Crucially, the question of comparison with arch-rival British Airways is yet to be answered: BA, too, will offer 56 seats, but that means either seven rows of eight seats or eight rows of seven.
Apologies if this has been already mentioned elsewhere.

Looking at the filed seat map on Expert Flyer it does seem to be an 8-across config (2-4-2) in WTP.

Going to be interesting see how tight this is given the cabin is around 22cm wider than the 787 (2-3-2) and 26cm narrower than the 777 (also 2-4-2), according to a quick Google of the internal cabin widths.

A350 routes summer 2020

Has anyone found which routes summer 2020 will be operated with A350's? I've had a manual search and haven't found one yet. I had hoped that Toronto would keep it, but that's gone.
I've posted on the A350 routes thread but no response. I'm looking at May or June. Thank you.

I can't imagine they will have rostered the A350 for any routes yet for Summer 2021. You may have to wait until later this year to see what routes it goes on.

22cm is about one seat width, so may not be a problem.

i did notice IAD in from April is often served by a “777” which says on First - cabin not operated. Wonder if this 777 will eventually become an A350 if they aren’t selling first.

No not quite. About 20 inches. (50cm)

The A350 is known to be one of the worst in PE. Narrower than 777 but same number of seats, yet the only slightly narrower 787 has one fewer seat.

Makes the 787 normally very good in PE. Less good in Y.

777 sort of in between on both.

These above are are all relative of course.

I was a bit trigger happy, sorry. I'm really asking which routes from the start of the summer timetable are using them i. e. April 2020. Thanks.

I'm also looking at booking an award ticket in April, 2020. Right now BA92/93 to/from YYZ is showing up as a B787

Yes that's why I keep asking where they are going. March BA93 & 92 to Toronto are A350. Looks like I'll have to manually trawl through the world!

A350 to BKK?

Might we see the A350 on the BKK route, or at least one of the 788s that are being displaced by the A350?

That would at least put an end to the negative comments about old and tired interiors and IFE on the 772s, even if the economy seats are dreadful on the 788.
