Interesting that BA are undercutting Emirates with prices in October in J, even over half term they're £500 cheaper. Is this strategic or just because of the current sale?

Four of us are booked already to fly on BA93 on 2 oct in WT and we were just thinking of seat selection on the 787-9 when the plane on the booking is now down as undefined and I assume may be the A350 1000 . Where could I find out potentially the seats to avoid

No one has seen the plane yet. You won't get detailed Seat advice until the MAD flights start in mid August.

Any guesses on MAD right now are just that, guesses, and probably not particularly well-informed ones. Here's what needs to happen:

1. Airbus advises BA of A350 delivery date based on progress down the line plus flight tests. There's supposed to be a 30-day heads-up on this, BA has been saying July for the delivery, so we won't likely even have a delivery date until sometime in June.

2. BA picks up the keys to the A350, does a TLS-LHR ferry flight - again, sometime in July but which end of the month is anybody's guess.

3. The A350 has to go through an 'entry into service' program, this isn't my area of expertise but I believe this is a few weeks. I know that it will encompass some additional cabin work because while the Club Suites are being line-fitted at TLS, there's 'finishing work' to be done by BA on arrival.

Taking that into account, I'd not expect MAD to pop up on the schedule until mid- or even late-August. If you want to get a jump on this, you could set up an aircraft change alert in ExpertFlyer for the likely flight. However, don't count on getting into Club World on the very first MAD flight as BA tells me their current thinking is to book out the entire CW cabin for media etc (likely also some BA staff who have won contests etc).

That's why I flagged them as 'tipped', because this was based on in o from pre-briefing with BA and not locked in. I believe the typical swap for these famil flights would be B777 to A350 but timing-wise, yeah, BA could well have decided that the better turn-around for the A350 will be by having it on an earlier service. We won't know for sure until this is confirmed by BA or indicated through GDS change etc.

Where are the doors positioned? Between rows 11 and 15 or between cockpit and row 1? And will there be only one airbridge on the 350s?

I hoping BA will send A350-1000 to PHX. It will replace 747-400 aircraft. We shall see what happens.

That I don't know. Suppose it depends if the aircraft is parked at a stand with dual airbridges.

So looking at the Dubai flights, it looks like the A350 is on BA107 arriving in Dubai at 2300, then departing back at 0130 the next day on BA106. Anyone have any experience of doing back to backs in these cases? I've only been through Dubai on Emirates ( under QF codeshare ), and I know there that transferring didn't mean immigration etc. Not sure whether that's the same at BAs terminal? Also wondering whether I would be able to easily checkin online for the second flight?

Thanks!

Have they explicitly said no A350s will have first class? I thought they were using slightly different language, words to the effect of either "no A350s currently on order with have First" or "none of the initial A350s will have First" (I have heard/seen both versions.) What I haven't seen/heard yet a definitive statement that NO BAs A350s will have a First! But I probably missed it.
